Does your museum store carry books on WW II? If so, who is your book procurer?

    Thank you,

    Ron Burt

We only have a few books in our museum store. They are not obtained through a procurer. Thanks for visiting our web-site.

I am trying to find a good home for a parka and boots worn by my father, a Naval Aviator, in the Aleutians Islands, Alaska, during WWII. I do not want any money for the items and am happy to submit a picture. Do you have any interest or know anyone who might?

    Thank you.

Thank you so much for considering the Armed Forces History Museum. We are always open for donations. If you will contact me via email at I can assist you with proceeding with the donation. The AFHM would like to extend its gratitude for your father’s service.

Can you send me some free information.Thank you

I’m not sure what kind of information you are requesting. All the information on our rack cards and collateral materials is also on our web-site. Are you looking for something specific regarding the museum, or in general. Look under “Plan Your Visit” and you’ll find a lot of information regarding the museum, it’s costs, displays, etc. Otherwise, email me at and let me know what else I can send you. Thanks!

How can I get a set of my father’s medals for his museum display? According to his discharge papers he earned: American Service Medal, EAME Service Medal, Good conduct medal , World War II Victory Medal.

I am checking with my historian as I know medals can be ordered, but I don’t know from where. Is your father’s museum display here?

I have a walnut decorative box with ventilation holes on the front. There are decorative brass around each hole. On top there is a brass handle. Inside there is a bird cage with perches and places for a glass cup for water. The other glass cup is missing. The whole box is about 8″ high, 15″ long and 8″ across. It is hinged on the back. I was wondering it it could have been used to house a carrier pigeon. Thank-you. Phyllis
